Spiffin' it up! Kitchen Remodel
It's taken us a few months, but our 1936 English Tudor kitchen is finally complete. When we moved in the kitchen was drab. Old appliances, yellowish/orange oak cabinets, original wood floors (which I love) , "country" curtains (as my husband called them). It was not our style and in need of some serious upgrading. It has taken us 4 1/2 years but I can finally say that I love our kitchen. It's not my ideal layout, but islands were not a big thing back in the 30's! I do enjoy a lot of it's original charm, now it just has a more modern twist.

Let Freedom Ring!
Liddy's first Fourth of July weekend was fun and not too eventful. We didn't get to see any fireworks, because they didn't shoot off until 10 pm, which was pretty late for a 10 month old, but we did get to do some other fun things to celebrate the holiday. We even took a last minute trip down to Jasper so that I could meet baby Benjamin, my newest nephew! Boy, is he a cutie!

Marks favorite- he loves a good bag pipe. |

Strawberry Festival
Every year that I can remember the Graudins family has attended the annual Strawberry Festival. It is downtown Indy on the circle and has been running for 48 years! Let me tell you, they make one mean shortcake. I was very excited to share this tradition with Lidia... hopefully we can continue it for years to come!
Fully Loaded....delicious! |
Lovely Indy |
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme |
Lots of people head to the fest on their lunch break. |
I love the banjo! My kind of band! |
Aunt Kate let Liddy play in the fountain. She loved splashing and kicking her feet in the water. She got so wet we had to strip her down afterwards! |

It's a Celebration!
Last weekend was special. My dear friend Caitlin is getting married in July. In order to celebrate her upcoming nuptuals we headed to Chicago for a girlie bachelorette. Once you have a baby getting away seems to be a thing of the past, so getting to spend 3 whole days with my ladies was a special treat! Here is the weekend in photos!
Beautiful Chicago |

Caitlin was bought a "fireball shot" by a random guy. It was meant to be since she is marrying Mr. Firebaugh :) |

Becky threw Caitlin an amazing dinner/shower at her home before we boarded the trolley on Saturday night. |
Sexy Lingerie? I think not- only footie PJ's for this gal! |

Who doesn't love a good trolley ride? |
Judy and Mindy always keeping us entertained! |
Thanks for a great weekend, Chicago! |
